French Connection 2011 Campaign

This is by far the most unconventional and unique campaigns I’ve come across.

Set on the Isle of Malta and Gozo, the preliminary question of French Connections Spring 2011 campaign is ‘Are you man?’ ‘Are you woman?’
Radically pushing the ambassadors to the edge as a test to discover what it is to be ‘man’ or ‘woman’ in the 21st century.
Obstacle  –  To perform a series of tasks in created scenarios.
These ‘created scenarios’ refer to riding a horse in the sea, looking spectacular atop an inflatable animal, dancing on piano keys, wrestling a biker...you get my drift. The tongue-in-cheek humor gets to you. (In a good way)
This vintage inspired, visually captivating campaign completely mesmerizes you with its sheer simplicity.

Out of Proportion.

|| Wearing Zara wide legs, Tom Ford sunglasses, White tee from Old Navy, Aldo sling, H&M bracelet and Flea market earrings ||

These 70’s inspired bottoms are so damn drool-worthy.
You all are aware of my current obsession with wide legs (seen here) but its high time you'll get addicted too.

To do these big beige beauties some much needed justice I decided to go minimal with the top and accessories.
What do you guys think?

Understated Chic - NUDES

Lets push our attention-grabbing garments to the back of our closets because its time to take on a clean, polished and above all, chic solution to everyday dressing.
In honor of understated dressing and the likes of Jackie Kennedy we must focus on the most fashionable yet subtle trend on our hands : NUDES
The breakthrough of nude tones happened more than a year ago, but due to its charming ‘less-is-more’ mantra it’s still going strong.
Women don’t need to rely on clothes that are chromatically bold or seductively loud to look modern and chic. (Infact, I think it’s high time we move on from those trashy ass-covering red dresses)
Its all about the subtleties of tone - Shades of creams, black and white – maybe a nude with peach and washed out nutmeg, or a grey with icy blue. Think neutral.......

You know my motivation, Given my reputation

I learned two very important things this week.
One- To never underestimate the power of a tripod.  Two - To never underestimate the power of a Boyfriend Jacket.

A big thank you to  Style Drive and The Creative Mixx for featuring me.
Also, have I mentioned that I find an indefinable excitement in wearing my brothers clothes?

Spring 2011 : Wide leg pants.

 WI(L)DER THAN EVER.

Tailored and prim, sophisticated yet casual with mid to high waists, : that’s how my 2011’s favorite trend plays the game – The wide leg pants.

When I say wide leg, if your thinking ‘bell bottoms’ let me just stop there and correct you. Wide leg pants are as wide at the hem as they are throughout the rest of the leg, including the calves, knees and thighs.

The likes of Jil Sander, Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger and Jason Wu haven’t left any table unturned to show us that its their favorite too. Wide-leg pants have flooded the runways (and how!) and nobody’s complaining yet.

Frankly, Im tired of seeing everyone around me in tiny dresses that seem to get tinnier every time. Same old same old. Wide legged pants are bringing in that thankful difference  – encouraging wearing of more dressy/ladylike tops, blouses and accessories, creating an overall picture of effortless chic.

Wearing wide-leg pants 101
1.  1.Don’t lose the heels. Flats will simply never give these pants the attention they need. (The only exception here is moccasins or loafers if your going for a more masculine look)
2.     Don’t minimalize the pants. Go ginormous, and let them speak for themselves.
4.  3. Remember that every trend is not made for everyone. Wide legged pants look fabulous on taller frames. Shorties? Not so much.
   4. Keep the top simple and slim to counterpoint the voluminous pants.
5.     Waists work best a little higher and belted to avoid slouching in a sloppy way.

Personally, I cannot imagine life without my skinnies. Little bit of a quandary there.  So while Im not making wide leg’s my wardrobe staple yet, they cannot be overlooked as a stylish,  dominant and sophisticated addition to your 2011 repertoire.

70’s inspired bottoms are back with a bang and I simple cannot wait to get my hands on them.

Much love and even more excitement,
