A Day With Vogue Eyewear

I had the most amazing time a couple of weeks ago shooting as a muse for Vogue Eyewears S/S15 collection. The shoot was an out-and-out pamper treatment - right from a beautiful shoot location, working with ace photographer Atul Kasbekar, getting dolled up by extraordinaire artist Elton Fernandes to being styled by the effortless Allia Al Rufai. It definitely helped that I was surrounded by some of India's best fashion bloggers and as you can imagine, playing dressing up with them was a blast.
Out of the three themes representing the Vogue Eyewear S/S15 collection ('Timeless', 'Casual Chic', & 'In Vogue') I represented the latter - 'In Vogue'. My look was assembled with a gorgeous pair of Vogue Eyewear frames (Model No: VO2907). Choosing my favorite frame from the striking array of playful styles was a pretty tough decision but I finally settled looking at the gorgeous petroleum green hue. Their easy-to-wear appeal along with its glamorous detailing made them a perfect fit for my trendy and modern outlook.

You can also catch some super fun behind the scenes action here.

Mumbai's polluted air, repeated heat styling, tons of hair products at blog shoots and simply not having the time to pamper my precious hair, leaves it, as you would expect - super damaged. When those down days in a month come by where my hair feels limp and unhealthy, I almost always turn to my mother and complain about having to go for a haircut again. Isn't that the solution we all turn to for hair thats not looking as great as it should?
Definitely, until, I took the Matrix Biolage Advance Repairinside Treatment.

When I heard about this new treatment by Matrix there were two reasons why it appealed to me. Firstly, contrary to other hair treatments that usually either nourish your hair from the inside or make it look stronger and stunning on the outside, the Biolage treatment does both. Not only does it repair your damaged hair from inside, but it also makes it stronger automatically making it look better and less-damaged on the outside.
Secondly, there was finally a solution for my damaged hair that entailed not chopping it off. Instead of cutting it, I could re-construct it.

My Review of the Treatment
The treatment began with the Biolage Advance Repairinside Treatment Shampoo followed by a Hyperdose concentrate which was applied to sections of my hair to target the most damaged sections. On top of the concentrate a Masque was applied which was followed by a super relaxing 20minute massage (best part, duh). Post the massage, I went in for a quick rinse and then a leave-in cream was smeared to protect my hair from heat damage while styling.
As soon as my hair dried and I ran my hand through it, it felt unbelievably soft and shiny.
As you can see in the 'Before and After' picture above, my hair was transformed into a more healthy, bouncy and shiny version of itself.

My favorite part
Its been almost a week since I took the treatment and ever since I have been using the Repairing shampoo the kind folks over at Matrix gave me and my hair feels fantastic. There's a typical moisture-like layer that the shampoo leaves onto my hair (non-greasy) that makes it feel protected, softer and a lot more thicker!

I recommend you go give it a try at a salon near you!

What I'm Wearing - Mango off-shoulder dress worn as top, Midi skirt from a boutique in Bangkok, Style Fiesta Gold Macro Studs, Moschino clutch & Forever21 shoes.

To me, Fashion, Art and Music are three tangents of the same foundation; closely related and always supplementing. When Blackberrys - one of India's leading premium menswear brands, announced that its annual flagship event was no-more a fashion show but a five-city World Music Tour, it was commendable to see a fashion brand push their boundaries and collaborate and promote other genres apart from its own.
'Blackberrys Sharp Nights - Master of World Music' is conceptualised to showcase two of the worlds leading world music performers Fatoumata Diawara and singer Vieux Farka Toure, promote local talent and initialize a scholarship fund to help conserve traditional Indian music. Fatoumata Diawara will perform on Nov 19th in Delhi and in Hyderabad on Nov 22nd whereas Vieux Farka Toure will perform on Dec 3rd, Dec 6th and Dec 10th in Pune, Bengaluru and Mumbai respectively.
It gets better. Each concert of this festival will open curtains with a fashion auction that showcases Blackberrys AW'14 looks - proceeds of which will be used to nurture Indian traditional music schools, by providing scholarships for deserving students and funds for material support.

In other news, a beauty haul and review of a fab hair treatment is coming to you soon. Hope you enjoyed looking at this outfit! Tell me what you thought of it in the comments :)

What I'm Wearing - All clothing items courtesy GAS, Ermenegildo Zegna bag, Steve Madden pumps, Daniel Wellington watch & Style Fiesta sunglasses.
Makeup by Clinique.

October came and went faster than I could have imagined. One very exciting project I worked on towards the last week of this rather swift month was my collaboration with GAS for their 30th anniversary celebrations.
While styling a look from their extensive collection of grunge yet sophisticated, clean cut lines, I fell in love with the mud blemished denim jacket and decided to dive into a denim-on-denim trend look. Never mind the Bombay weather, I can at least pose around in this gorgeous denim jacket for you guys. As expected, the super-soft jeans fit like a dream.

Moving onto the more exciting bit - in accordance with its celebrations, the GAS website is going to be absolutely free for 30 seconds. Uh-huh, I'm not kidding! On 13th November, at 3:30 pm, you have 30 seconds to log onto their website and buy anything (anything!) free of charge.
Guess its going to be a race to the heaviest shopping bag.

Quite naturally, the title of the post must have crept a doubt in your mind, but you've got my word, this new service will have you splurging online and while you're at it - make you some money too. Money saved is money earned right?

To put it simply, BonusBay is a cash-back website that offers part of buyers money back on popular shopping sites like Amazon, Jabong, Myntra, Flipkart and the works. So while you shop there, BonusBay gives you back a part of your purchase amount, and that too, directly in your bank account! Too good to be true? Follow these super simple steps so you can start earning right away :

Step 1
Register an account with BonusBay.in. Easy-peasy. Just make sure your browser allows cookies so BonusBay can track your purchases.

Step 2
Browse through their massive inventory of stores (they've got everything from Myntra to Yatra to Koovs) and look for the one you want to shop from. Click on the 'Get Bonus' tab and you'll be re-directed to the website. Here on, carry out your purchase as you normally would and BonusBay will recognise you as a user.

Step 3
The bonus you rightfully earned (differs from store to store) will now be reflected in your account under the 'Tracked Cashback' tab. This might take a few days to show up so sit tight.

Step 4
Once your BonusBay balance hits a minimum of Rs 1000, you can ask for the amount to be transferred to your bank account. Ta-da!

The cash-back amounts might seem fairly small in the beginning, but with time, you'll see this figure appreciating into something substantial.

What I'm Wearing - Vero Moda Marquee Ivory-SL-Dress
(Paired with D&G clutch, New Look shoes & Style Fiesta accessories)

The Vero Moda Marquee collection in collaboration with the glamorous Karan Johar is everything you would expect out of an extravagant fashion collection - and more. The designs are hoity, glittery and yet have a sense of serene sophistication with a calculated play of palettes.
While choosing my look from the Marquee collection, I spotted this pastel beauty - an ivory colored fit and flare dress with gorgeous embroidered embellishments. I love a versatile dress and I quickly knew of numerous occasions that I would play around with this one at. My other favorites from the collection are the Ivory-SL-Cropped-Top and the Ivory-SL-Embroidery-Dress.

You can view the entire collection here and can shop the pieces online exclusively on Myntra.com & ofcourse, in all Vero Moda stores.

What I'm Wearing - Zara shirt, ASOS skirt, Stella McCartney bag, Zara shoes, Hublot watch, Sunglasses, earring & bracelets from Style Fiesta. (Click on link to shop)

Thankfully I don't work in a corporate environment but there are days that entail formal meetings which deliberately call for corporate dressing. I love these days because I can finally unleash my inner Rachel Zane (I'm a Suits addict). I'm not one to make subtle choices, so I dumped my black pencil skirt for this exciting leopard print hue.

Now lets nail that meeting?

What I'm Wearing - ASOS cropped knit, Bershka trousers; All sunglasses from IDEE

If you know me at all, I almost never leave home without my sunnies. The catch here is, its got less to do with the weather conditions and more so that I believe sunglasses add a sense of completion to my outfits. They make for a very vital accessory in my wardrobe.

When I was introduced to IDEE Eyewear, I was pleasantly surprised (for my very own shopaholic self) by the trend timing of an international eyewear brand of Indian descent. Don't get me wrong - I'm all for Indian origin, but the sunglasses category in our country hasn't always kept me very enticed...up until now. On first glance, the styles looked very leisurely yet fashionable to me, and I had a hard time making a choice from their extensive collection. I finally chose the four styles that you see above and when they reached me, I was even more impressed and instantly added them to my favorites list. The sunglasses have a very young and chic appeal to them and their easy going accents makes them all the more wearable on an everyday basis.
Psst, they have some amazing eye pieces for men too.

You can also follow them on Facebook here and buy their products on Jabong India.

After the overwhelming response on the first edition of the #FashionBusiness series - 'How To Start A Successful Fashion Business', here goes the second edition. If there's any specific topic you would like me to address under this series, leave me a message :)

This is for all of you out there who, very much like me, fancy the online space and want to venture into the e-commerce category. So how do you make that precious first sale? You've got a product you want to sell, primped your company logo and set up a fancy website. Now how do you get the customers pouring in and actually start selling?

When anyone asks me this question with reference to Stylefiesta.com, my answer is usually 'I've been a fashion blogger for 4 years+ and I converted my readers into customers'. While this is partially true, blogging being the primary reason I got drawn into the world of e-commerce, my journey hasn't been satiable with just my blog readers. There have been tons of ups-and-downs and sleepless nights of brainstorming to work up a trunk of loyal customers and constant daily sales. But what if you're not a blogger, hate writing and would make for a fabulous online retailer?

Then I hope this helps you and tons of other aspiring fashion-businesswomen like me..

Use your Social Networks
..And by social networks I mean friends and family. They will always be your strongest medium of word-of-mouth marketing and there's no better marketing than that. Make use of platforms that you use to stay connected with friends and family - it could be getting them to share links on their social media platforms or hosting a preview trunk show.

Let Customers Test Your Product
In a country like India, where e-commerce is at a nascent stage, the obstacle is not only convincing your customer to buy a product, but also to buy your product online. At least in the beginning, it is necessary to give your customers a touch-and-feel of your product to allow them to trust your brand and in turn shop online the next time as well as recommend to their peers.

Send Samples to Influencers
Bloggers, vloggers, social personalities, journalists, entrepreneurs - find out who the influencers in your industry are. Influencers can make or break a brand, and for a startup, they could make it in a big way. Send them samples and freebies with a personal touch. There are chances of a possible shout-out and if not, they could genuinely like your product and are sure to mention it to 10 potential customers.
Being a blogger, I have recorded the traffic I've driven to brands websites that I have collaborated with and its been pretty fantastic, so take it from the horse's mouth itself.

Invent a Unique Crowd-Puller
Why should someone come to your website and not another? Have something unique to offer them. If you don't have it, create it, invent it, make it up if you have to, but make sure you're giving your customer something just a little more than what everyone's giving them.
For example, with Style Fiesta, my biggest marketing strategy has always been my connect with my customers. My customers find it easy to relate with the personality behind the e-commerce website as compared to a faceless brand. To respect that, I make sure that 100% of the buying is done by me, so my customers are buying my carefully hand picked products for them.

Email IDs Are Priceless
Collect email ids in whichever way you can, be it pre-launch registrations, newsletter signups or registered customers. This way you're delivering your products, latest news and attractive offers right at the door of your potential customers, something even a dozen Facebook & twitter updates can't achieve.
(Cheap tactics like asking your friends who work in other companies always works. Let's not deny it, we've all been there)

Create Some Noise
Jenny Humphrey did it in Gossip Girl, and we know how well that turned out. Think along the lines of a viral video, a launch event or a PR stunt - something that would grab everyone's attention and have them talk about your brand to their friends. Once they know about your brand, that's battle number 1 won right there.

Affiliate Marketing
In simpler words, other popular blogs and websites will drive traffic to your website and they earn a sales commission on every sale made through them. Seen those banners on fashion blogs? That's what they do. Get associated with an affiliate marketing network and you can have influencers marketing your product and driving in sales for you.

Rich Pins
Pinterest can be a massive traffic-puller for an e-commerce website. Seen those posts with the little prices and links? Yeah, they're money churners. Religiously pinning your products using Product Rich Pins will not only direct genuine traffic to your website but also guarantee sales.

Social Media, Obviously
This point needs no explanation and yet I see brands not giving it the importance they should. Instead of dishing out cute quotes to share on your Instagram page, share your products along with prices, you'll see solid conversions in no time.

Saturdays, are hands down, my favorite day of the week. I love spending my mornings lazing in bed and then usually head out to gorge on some delicious food with family or friends. I try and keep my weekend completely work-free so when I get back to my desk on Monday, I'm on it with an unmatched zest. My evenings comprise of catching up on some shopping, spending time with my books or going for a run and then I head out to party it up on Saturday nights.
Above, is a relaxed outfit I wore to brunch at my favorite Chinese restaurant in the city - China Garden. Light layering with vests and crochet jackets works just perfectly for humid Bombay weather.
What I'm Wearing - Style Fiesta Créme De La Créme t-shirt, Zara tights & crochet vest, Louis Vuitton neverfull, Dior shoes, ASOS sunglasses & Daniel Wellington watch.

The Créme De La Créme tee is from a new project I've been working on for a while. Its a collection of super funky, chic, boyfriend t-shirts that will soon be available at Jabong, Myntra, KOOVS etc. I'll keep you guys updated!

Until next time..

A little shoot I wanted to share with you, that I did in celebration of my birthday (27th August). This birthday, I feel blessed beyond belief for all the love and happiness I have in my life - specially you, my lovely readers, who keep coming back to see what I have to write. So THANK YOU!
My resolutions for this year are pretty simple and I'm excited to put them into action. 'Work lesser but work harder, and make more time for the things I genuinely love. To be guided less by schedules, and more by instinct.'
Now who wants to join me? :)

Getting to my outfit, I'm digging this foam trend pretty seriously. It's adorable and I can't help but feel like a barbie doll prancing around in it. I maintained a monochrome tone in my outfit and shoes and threw in a burst of colors with my bag and jewelry.
So..while I was in New York back in April, the kindest reader (a certain Ms Shimul) recommended 'Necessary Clothing' - a cutesy boutique label to me. She insisted that being familiar with my style and taste through my blog, I would love it - and oh boy I did. Its easily one of my favorite labels already!

In other exciting news, I'm now a part of the fabulous blog network over at POPxo. POPxo is a fabulous content-based lifestyle website and I'm stoked to be a part of their super cool crew and dish out new stories every month. I'll be sharing tid-bits here on my blog now and then, but you can head over to their website for the real deal. Don't blame me if I get you addicted.

Also dont forget to check my features out in DNA, Elle, The Afternoon this month.
